10. Maleficent

In 1959's "Sleeping Beauty," Maleficient, the undeniable Queen of Petrification, makes an appearance, cursing newborn Aurora because she wasn't invited to the christening. Eleanor Audley, who portrays Lady Tremaine, Cinderella's underrated evil stepmother, as Maleficent, gives the character all the theatrical flair and memorable lines of the best villains on movie. Through the course of the movie, "Mistress of All Evil" has come to symbolize evil. It would be difficult to top the dreadful dragon shape he takes at the movie's conclusion.

9. Timon & Pumbaa

The inclusion of these multiple behaviors may go against the letter of the law, but given how effectively they compliment one another, it is impossible to separate them. The unique friendship of meerkats and wild boars and their participation in "The Lion King" garner twice as many chuckles as some of the other Disney sidekicks. Sadly, Timon and Pumbaa also cross paths after being banished from their own village. Together, they live happy lives and teach other outcasts like Simba about a "trouble-free worldview." It's lovely to watch how kindly they treat orphans, and both are entertaining in their own special manner.

8. Goofy

The Disney company may be best recognized for its portrayal of Mickey Mouse, but Goofy is also credited with giving Mickey his distinctive chuckle and two of his most well-known voices, Goofy's screams. The Goofy holler, which was a hidden Mickey Mouse sound effect in several other Disney movies, including "Cinderella" and "Home on the Range," has turned into a standard sound effect known as the "Wilhelm Scream." Viewers appreciate Goofy for his slapstick humor and the way he chuckles at every mishap he encounters.

7. Winnie the Pooh

The honey-loving bear who serves as the book's namesake, Winnie the Pooh, stands out among the other characters in Hundred Acre Wood. Pooh, who is described as "a bear with a very small brain," spends the majority of his time looking for honey, but it is his kind nature and affection for his pals that make him endearing to us. Pooh has a pretty laid-back outlook on life, and he typically takes the initiative to find answers to any issues that he or his pals may have.

6. Scar

As they become older, Disney fans understand that occasionally antagonistic characters are just more compelling, and Scar unquestionably fits this description. Not only is he likeable, but surprisingly enough, people appreciate him for his cynicism, especially for his observation that "I am surrounded by idiots". Despite killing Mufasa, which is a vile deed, Scar remains a compelling and endearing figure. It's difficult to comprehend why he acted in such a way, yet it seems sense that he would feel resentful and jealous of Simba for standing in the way of the throne. Aside from playing a fantastic character, Jeremy Irons is possibly the most ideal casting choice in a Disney movie, with a cool and sophisticated tone that seems like it was intended for this character.

5. Ursula

When it comes to Disney villains, Ursula the Sea Witch reigns supreme and imparts to us a valuable lesson on the importance of body language. One of the best songs by the larger-than-life character may be found on "Poor Souls." He is a personality overload. Thanks to her capacity to change forms and call out various types of black magic, as shown by her eerie destined soul garden, Ursula is a powerful and effective adversary. Her ability to persuade others is essential to her success, and she oozes charisma and assurance. Pat Carroll provides the voice for Ursula, a very stunning antagonist with a drag queen-inspired aesthetic.

4. Jiminy Cricket

Everything seems to be standing in the way of Pinocchio's ambition to be a genuine boy, so he needs a special kind of sidekick to help him. A blessing is Jiminy Cricket, who serves as the living doll's conscience, source of trust, and guidance as she navigates everything the world has to offer. Jiminy Cricket is the one who pioneered the trend of intelligent sidekicks in Disney films, which is now well-known. Jiminy serves as Pinocchio's conscience, yet he too makes errors and picks himself up after them. Along with his natural intelligence and charm, Jiminy's awareness of his flaws makes him one of the best.

3. Sebastian

Although "The Little Mermaid" has many memorable characters, Sebastian the crab takes the prize. One crab can't possibly undertake the daunting duty of keeping Ariel under control and making sure the oppressive King Triton is happy. Fortunately, Sebastian is someone who puts himself into any duty that is assigned to him and completes it all with good humor and unwavering determination, whether that be conducting an underwater orchestra or escaping a voracious chef. Sebastian is a fantastic character, and it's obvious that the movie's creators choose him because he has two memorable songs: the enthralling "Kiss the Girl" and the indelible "Under the Sea."

2. Mickey Mouse

As Walt himself described it, "it all started with a rat," and the rat is unquestionably one of the most well-known emblems in popular culture today. The significance of Mickey cannot be overstated, and Walt's enduring observation illustrates how something as significant as the Disney brand could originate from such a tiny thing. In addition to his on-screen roles, Mickey, who made his cinematic debut in 1928, has developed into an icon and an image that is exclusively connected to the Disney brand. Mickey can be ranked somewhat lower in terms of personality and character because his best moments frequently include him working with characters like Donald or Goofy, yet nothing matches him in terms of cultural impact.

1. Genie

With the exception of Genie, not many Disney characters fit all the criteria. Not only is Genie a great character, but he also significantly influences Disney movies as a whole. Studios preferred to select well-known humorous performers or pop culture figures during the 1990s, in part due to Robin Williams' success in "Aladdin". The influence Robin Williams had in creating this persona cannot be overstated. According to Aladdin co-director Ron Clements, Williams' improv and ad-lib "ends up with an incredible amount of material wealth" (via Variety). Clements acknowledges that Williams' performance was crucial and that it "changed the way animation is viewed." If the movies wouldn't be as beautiful as they are without them, that would be a true test of character strength, and in Genie's case, he doesn't just steal the show; he is the show.
